One of our members, Charlotte, has been part of a Cancer Research Uk Relay for Life
Here's the letter she sent us:
Relay For Life is a year-round team fundraising challenge bringing communities together to beat cancer.
Teams of family and friends fundraise for life-saving cancer research. Then join a 24-hour celebration to show that together we are stronger than cancer.
I will be taking part in the Cancer Research Relay for life in Cirencester on 28th and 29th July.
My relay team, The Cots-Woldies, will be walking for 24 hours and fundraising in the months leading up to the relay.
If you would like to support us please go to my fundraising page by searching for Cirencester Relay for Life follow the link to donate and search for my name, Charlotte Bentham.
You are also very welcome to come along to support the event.
Thank you to our members supporting CPCSG!
at the Hucclecote show 16 June 2018
Quite a few people dropped by the CPCSG Gazebo in the afternoon at the Hucclecote Show to see if there was a little something with their name on it.
Two members of our group, Anne Kinsman and Heather Le Feuvre, have been busily knitting and crocheting so their beautiful hand-made baby and toddler garments were on sale on the stall, along with other small good quality items collected by Barry Le Feuvre to sell on the day.
They raised a brilliant £140 and all proceeds are kindly being donated to the Cotswolds Prostate Cancer Support Group.
In addition, they raised awareness about prostate cancer which, of course, may mean a life saved.
Thank you to all who helped!
Helen Atkinson from Age UK will be telling us how they can be of help.
Another great event we'll be attending is this one at Tewkesbury School in August. Again, if you can spare some time, please contact John. Click for more http://tewkesburycvf.org/
Our speaker for September will be Allan Warnock from Macmillan Cancer Support.
Eddie Hall has kindly offered to man our stand at this Health Awareness day at Brockworth Community Centre from 10am-3pm
on Thursday 13th Sept 2018.
In October, we welcome Becky Parish from Gloucester CCG to talk to us.
