PSA Testing Event at St Finbarrs - Saturday 30 November

This event at St Finbarr's Sports and Social Club was a great success - we tested 141 men. Although we were very busy the event went smoothly, and we had time to talk to participants and answer their questions. Prostate Cancer Support Association AGM - Thursday 11th April 2019

The AGM was well attended and straightforward. After the buffet, Steve Allan gave us an excellent update on the latest treatments and diagnostic advances. His talk was most informative and sparked much interest and discussion. Also, it was good to be challenged about our relationship with the UHCW based group - perhaps we should be holding joint bi-monthly meetings in Coventry - that could be a way forward…

Coventry & North Warwickshire Prostate Cancer Support Group Open Meeeting - Thursday 28 February

This open meeting was held on Thursday 28th February at 7:30pm at Ambleside Community Sports Club. Graham Fulford was due to speak to us about new initiatives on the PSA testing front. Particularly a new service to be launched by TDL to offer self testing kits. However, the service lauch has been delayed for logistical reasons, and so Graham decided to postpone his talk…
UHCW Support Group Meeting - Monday 4th February

This group primarily comprises recently treated men and some newly diagnosed men. It meets on the first Monday of every other month at 5:30pm in the Faith Centre, UHCW. The first meeting this year was on February 4th. Dr Yakhub Khan gave a most interesting talk on radiotherapy and treatments for advanced prostate cancer…

Quiz Evening - C&NW Prostate Cancer Support Group

Our quiz evenings at Ambleside in October have become a regular feature of our calendar. 80 people, including 5 guests, attended this latest quiz. It was great fun and our thanks are due to local quiz masters, Steve and Gail, for the variety and ingenuity of their questions! PSA Testing Event - Saturday 22nd September 2018

This Awareness Event was held in the Sports Hall of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Centre, Rugby. The event which was jointly organised by the Rugby Rokeby Lions and the Coventry & North Warwickshire Prostate Cancer Support Group was a great success. We tested 263 men, and the efficient stewarding by the Lion's team made it so much easier to handle the excellent turnout…
