Quiz Evening - C&NW Prostate Cancer Support Group

Our quiz evenings at Ambleside in October have become a regular feature of our calendar. 80 people, including 5 guests, attended this latest quiz. It was great fun and our thanks are due to local quiz masters, Steve and Gail, for the variety and ingenuity of their questions! Once again our thanks go to Bill and Teresa Bird for organising the abundance of raffle prizes - also for encouraging so many of their friends along!…
PSA Testing Event - Saturday 22nd September 2018

This Awareness Event was held in the Sports Hall of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Centre, Rugby. The event which was jointly organised by the Rugby Rokeby Lions and the Coventry & North Warwickshire Prostate Cancer Support Group was a great success. We tested 263 men, and the efficient stewarding by the Lion's team made it so much easier to handle the excellent turnout…

His aim is to raise awareness of the risks of prostate cancer, and to encourage men to have annual PSA tests from the age of 50 onwards - or 45 if they are of African descent or have close relatives who have experienced prostate cancer. UHCW Support Group Meeting on Monday 4th June

The latest UHCW Support Group meeting was well attended. Dr Darmesh Patel, a member of the Urology team gave us a well illustrated talk on the da Vinci Robot with particular reference to radical prostatectomies. Prostate Cancer Awareness Event at Willenhall Social Club

This event at Willenhall Social Club was a great success - we tested 92 men! It was unusual in that we had no rush early on - just a steady flow of local men arriving, even up to the last minute. It certainly made it easier for us, as well as making time for many interesting conversations along the way…
AGM of the Prostate Cancer Support Association (Central England)

Our Annual General Meeting was held on Thursday 26th April at 7:30 pm at the Coombe Social Club, Binley, Coventry. It was well attended and our Annual Report was reviewed and discussed. A key concern is how to increase our membership. We hope to welcome new members to our meetings and to help out with our awareness events…
UHCW Support Group Meeting

The UHCW Prostate Cancer Support Group met on Monday afternoon on 9th April. We had an excellent talk from Nurse Sarah Roth on Erectile Dysfunction (ED) and its treatments. Sarah runs an ED Clinic at UHCW. Men can be referred to her clinic by Consultants or CNSs attached to the Urology and Oncology Departments…
We have three more PSA testing events planned for the Autumn. The first of these events will be held on Saturday 16th September at the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Centre, in Rugby. Three weeks later on 7th October we will be at the Lutterworth Club in Lutterworth. Our final event of 2023 will be on Saturday 21st October at Christ The King Parish Centre, Coundon, Coventry. For all these events we will continue to use the Graham Fulford online booking system. As a result our events run smoothly with minimal queuing and adequate social distancing.
