We are delighted to announce that Mr Altan Omer has kindly offered to talk to us about recent advances in the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer. Mr Omer is a consultant urologist at UHCW. In addition to his surgical skills, he has led the introduction of LATP biopsies at UHCW and regionally. He has also surveyed the significance and effectiveness of MRI scanning as a diagnostic tool. Both these procedures have the potential to accurately monitor the progress of prostate cancers thereby boosting the option of Active Surveillance and thus minimising overtreatment.
We look forward to seeing many of you at Broadstreet RFC at 7:15 for a 7:30 pm start. New members together with their wives/partners are especially welcome. Come and get answers to your questions. It’s also a chance to discuss personal experiences in a safe and friendly environment, and so new members are particularly welcome.
We will be available to welcome those attending from 7:15 pm onwards.
Our next Prostate Health Awareness event will be held on Saturday 28th February at Christ the KIng Parish Centre, 14 Westhill Road, Coundon, Coventry, CV6 2AA.
