I have worked as a qualified nurse within the NHS throughout my career both in local (Nuneaton and Coventry) hospitals, and predominantly within a community setting. In my professional role I have seen huge progress in prostate cancer treatment but still feel there is a need for increased public awareness around early diagnosis. I retired earlier than planned to support my husband, Len, through his prostate cancer journey. I'm pleased to say that he is 8 years post surgery and keeping well. I have a huge conviction that partners need just as much support on this journey as the patient. Hence my decision to represent a partner's point of view on the committee.
