UHCW Support Group

This recently established support group is run by the Urology Dept of UHCW, Walsgrave. Meetings are organised by Mandinika (Mandy) Muzondo, Cancer Nurse Specialist.
Meetings are held every 2 months on the first Monday of the month at 5pm. Meetings are in the Faith Centre on the Ground Floor of the Walgrave Hospital.
This most recent meeting was well attended and took place on Monday 3rd April. The delicate topic under discussion was continence! For many men this is a temporary problem following radical treatment. Unfortunately some men have longer term problems.There was a thorough review of all the pads and products available, together with a new appliance to help stimulate pelvic floor development. Apparently this device has had singular success with significant improvements in over 70% of men. For more details, contact Mandinika.
As usual the atmosphere was informal and there was ample time to chat over refreshments.

Our next Prostate Health Awareness event will be held on Saturday 28th February at Christ the KIng Parish Centre, 14 Westhill Road, Coundon, Coventry, CV6 2AA. As usual we continue to use the Graham Fulford online booking system. As a result our events run smoothly with minimal queuing and adequate social distancing. See Coming Events for more detail.
