Simon Robinson running the Manchester Marathon for the Group in April
Wednesday, 15th January 2020
Simon Robinson, the son of one of our newer members, Glynn Robinson, is running the Manchester Marathon to raise funds for our group as well as for another charity.
The run takes place on Sunday 5th April and starts under the landmark White City Arch with the Manchester United stadium as a backdrop. The approach to the finish, popular with the crowds, passes Trafford Town Hall and Lancashire County Cricket Club as usual.
A new innovation to the route is a three-mile loop into the city centre, passing iconic buildings such as the Albert Memorial, Opera House, Spinningfields and the Midland Hotel - not necessarily in that order! The organisers say an astonishing 25,000 people will take part and as all the city centre roads will be completely closed, many more people are expected to come and watch.

We all wish Simon the best as his training ramps up and hope he completes his run successfully. You can make a donation using Simon's JustGiving page at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/simon-robinson62
